Found a strong decoction of roots and butts of leaves very efficacious for the healing of lacerations and amputations. Strong decoction boiled for 12 hours. Lesions kept soaked with decoction. Cases given. Decoction will ferment and deteriorate quickly but can be kept fresh with carbolic acid and glycerine (1 ounce of each to every quart).
