Harakeke cultivar

1) Best 1907; Urewera. Also known as Rātāroa [Other authors describe Rātāroa as having high quality fibre. Ed]

2) Williams 1971; Motuoruhi - inferior variety of flax.

3) Shortland 1856 ; inferior flax of no value whatsoever.

4) East Coast, Heaphy,in Flax Commissioners Report 1871: also Awanga - a variegated kind; fibre unserviceable for manufacture
