Moss came to New Zealand to ascertain what improvements could be made to the flax industry in St Helena. Spent 8 days in Foxton at New Zealand Woolpack and Textiles. Visited various flax areas, especially Moutoa Estate. Spent some days in Redan, Southland where flax growing conditions were similar to those in St Helena. There is a brief history of the flax industry in New Zealand, observations on the cultivation of flax at various sites and information on milling processes. Diagrams of equipment used.
