Some comments on New Zealand species. P. tenuifolium and P. eugenioides yield a gum resin but not in quantity to make it valuable. (From Report on New Zealand Exhibition 1865). Resin of P. eugenioides used by Māori to perfume oil. Leaves, flowers bruised and mixed with fat to anoint their bodies. (From Kirk"s Forest Flora)
