Harakeke cultivar.

Gregory Collection, Kaitaia. Recorded as muka flax. Black edge. Very strong. Kaumatua scrape up leaves and put through fire. It then becomes very soft and easy to tie. Used for tying horses and cattle. Has kōrari. See also Huiroa and Pihere
