Letter describes a flax seen by Lafosse in the garden of M. Hamond, Cherbourg, France. The flax came from M. Veitch. The flax is not named, but the description corresponds to Phormium tenax "Veitchianum" as described in Nicholson 1886 (green leaves with pale yellow stripes). See also Heenan 1991. Ornamental.
