Constituents of P. tenax. Fibre is 67% cellulose (artificial silk, cellulose, ester lacquers, paints, enamels).
p.227 - bitter resin obtainable analogous to hops resins : "a highly palatable beer can be brewed from flax leaves". Sugar content 1.2-6.5%.
Easterfield and Davies, quoted p.228, re experiments on alcohol production from waste. Gum has features in common with gum arabic. Tannins, chlorophyll.
