2) Andersen 1907: Glossy brown, with black edge and keel

3) Hursthouse, Taranaki. Flax Commissioners Report 1871: Tutaiwiki. Listed, not described.

4) Rooted plants sent from Taranaki to Botanic Gardens, Wellington in 1870. (''Tutaiwiki''). "Bronzed flax with black keel...growth of the leaves is very vigorous, the longest being five feet, and there being seven to nine to each plant"(Hector, Flax Commissioners Report, 1872).
