Two samples of "Ngaku" exhibited by W. L. Buller, Manawatu in the New Zealand Exhibition 1865. One flax leaf partially scraped and dyed with bark of hīnau for pokeha or rain cloak. Another specimen showed the state of the fibre after immersion in hīnau dye-water. Sample of dried flax exhibited by Karaitiana, Māori Chief, Pakowai, Napier.
