Kellam S. J., Tisch M. H., Walker J. R. L. 1992. Screening of New Zealand native plants for enzyme inhibitory activities. New Zealand Journal of Botany 30: 199-203
Notes
Extracts of 147 native plants assayed for inhibitory activity against 13 enzymes of clinical significance. 47% of extracts exhibited inhibitory effects against at least one enzyme. Samples of plant species taken from different locations often found to produce different profiles of inhibitory effects. Two genera stand out, Lophomyrtus and Hebe. Pittosporum eugenioides was notable in that similar spectra of inhibitory activities were obtained from the leaves, flowers and berries.
