Found in rockshelter 1894. 1) kete, woven in one piece. 2) Two large hanks of fine cord, approx. 700-800 yards. 3) soft white `tappa" (sic.) cloth. 4) strip of matting, one side dull, the other bright yellow. 5) belt of soft grass - brilliant yellow. 6) small mat.

NB Specimens of barkcloth have only been found in Otago, a long way from the northern areas where records show that aute barkcloth was made or known.(Neich 1996)
