Another version of Kahungunu tying his hair with inferior flax (See also Journal of the Polynesian Society 1905 ) At Whanganui. This time his slave gathers leaves. After flax break 2 times, Kahungunu says "This is not like the wharanui we obtained on the East Coast" Tamatea replying said "`Pūtiki-wharanui-a-Tamatea-pokai-whenua" shall this place be called"
