Ngā Rauropi Whakaoranga

The author describes 4 early cultivars of kūmara grown in the Bay of Plenty. Information mainly derived from Pare and Taukuira Mita. Cultivars described are pehu, taroamahoe, rekamaroa and hutihuti. Information on orgins. Leaves and roots are illustrated. The leaves of 2 cultivars were drawn from memory, the other 2 from original leaves submitted to the Auckland Museum, in 1942.
