Harakeke cultivar.

1) Following notes from Flax Commissioners Report 1870, 1871:

Jenkins, Waikato 1870 ; Leaves bright green, large and long. Red edge. Good fibre for machine. Like ngaro, pupu, poi taniwha, ngutu kaka, tumara, distinguished by base of leaf.

Constable, Waiuku 1871. Cultivated. Soft, fine fibre.
