matipoa ? likely misspelling

Click to collapse Description Info

"a tree containing turpentine" (Taylor 1870)

Matipoa might appear to be a misspelling of matipou, though matipo [sic], Myrsine australis, is listed separately by Taylor.

Taylor could possibly be referring to Pittosporum tenuifolium, also know as Black Mapou, which has a resin that is somewhat turpentine like.
