Notes
During World War II, with overseas supplies less available, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Botany Division investigated plants available in New Zealand for use as fibre or pharmaceuticals. This report gathered information from earlier sources (listed) and from personal contacts. Uses are listed under plant names. Includes a list of plants deemed worthy of further investigation "owing to their widespread use and high repute". Also a list that might be investigated owing to their relationship with other plants of medicinal value.
