"Several dye-lichens are abundant in the island, viz. Usnea, Ramalina, and Parmelia (P. conspersa, saxatilis, parietina, and perlata) Colenso 1868a.

Aston 1918b (p.128) lists lichens used for dyes in Europe, and their related New Zealand species.
