Corn cultivars. Open-pollinated varieties. Selection from collection of P. Berry near Gisborne 1969. Thought to be representative of types grown by Māori agriculturalists in warmer parts of country. Taller, earlier maturing than Mōtiti. Red cobs. More detailed description in Rhodes and Eagles 1984. Probably originated in New Zealand by cross-pollination between undetermined dent and flint varieties.
