Terms for bark (in Best 1942)

General terms are kiri, hiako, peha, tapeha.

torokiri perhaps not so widely embracing a term.

papakiri - scaling barks, as in Podocarps, mataī, kahikatea, miro, rimu.

kiri kowae - bark like mānuka, tōtara, loose and easily stripped off.

Kiri amoko - outer bark of mānuka, tōtara.
