Lotion, poultice used for wounds (Goldie 1905; Best 1906).

Leaves steeped in hot water, applied to wounds. Said to be antiseptic. Water in which leaves of namunamu, piripiri and some others boiled used in same way. Used as embrocation on bruises (Best 1908).

Weed gathered, boiled. Infusion taken after every meal to relieve chest pains of tuberculosis (Adams 1945).
