Ngā Rauropi Whakaoranga

Tīpare and kōpare are narrow plaited bands of white wefts used as ornamental fillets for the head. Plaiting technique described in Te Rangi Hiroa 1924: 344.

Kōtaha described by Williams 1971 as "Part of a chief"s head-dress, consisting of a fillet in which feathers are stuck." The plait used is called mekameka by Ngāti Porou.
