Araliaceae examined for antibiotic activity. Schefflera digitata specific for dermatophyte fungi, Microsporum and Trichophyton. Research centred on finding best methods, solvents for extracting antifungal principle from freeze-dried leaves of S. digitata. Principal = falcarindiol, appears to act by inhibiting spore germination.
