Part II, kohekohe. The oil has some affinity with that of Trichilia hirta (Meliaceae), a Mexican tree. Small quantity of this oil produced in Mexico for use as a hair dressing. Part III, New Zealand passion fruit. (now Passiflora tetrandra) Oil akin to common passion fruit. Māori used oil for anointing and applied it to chronic sores, cracked nipples. High proportion of linoleic acid, considered suitable for edible and technical purposes. Also contains an unusual red colouring matter, not carotenoid.
