Symptoms as they affect cabbage tree tuft, leaf, branch, trunk, rhizome and root are described. Distribution and epidemology. Host range. The pathogen hypothesis postulated. Possible candidates evaluated - nematodes, protozoa, fungi, bacteria, phytoplasmas, viruses. Present hypothesis is that Sudden Decline is a phytoplasma disease.
