Information on medicinal uses of plants collected from Māori informants by Norman Potts, Opotiki in 1941, on behalf of Ruth Mason, Botany Division, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Christchurch.  

Neil says that for remedies to be effective all utensils (e.g. saucepan) must be properly cleaned before and after use and a separate fire must be built away from dwelling.
