Notes
All extant populations of Hebe speciosa were investigated using DNA techniques. Patterns of genetic relationship among some populations indicate pre-European Maori dispersal and cultivation. Of interest is the close genetic relationship between the Hokianga population and that at Titirangi Bay in the Marlborough Sounds.
